EvaporCool Performance in Hot Weather
With the record hot weather we have had lately, keep in mind that the EvaporCool system performs even better in those conditions because the differential between dry bulb and wet bulb is farther apart.
Recent conditions in Memphis, TN:
DATE Dry Bulb Wet Bulb EvaporCool Air Temperature
6/28/12 100 73 79.2
6/29/12 102 75 81.2
Nearby area readings up to 105 degrees.
Besides the extra energy savings, these resulting condenser air temperatures (79.2 to 81.2 degrees) should prevent high head pressure “tripping” problems that are occurring regularly during these high heat level times.
Catalogued performance difference for a nominal 100 ton unit:
At 102 degree ambient, tonnage is 96.1 tons and KW/Ton is 1.24
The same unit during 102 degree ambient with EvaporCool operating at 81.2 degree condenser air temperature will produce 109.2 tons at .88 KW/Ton. This is a 13.6% capacity gain and a 29.1% decrease in energy.
